Reflection final post

Integrating Technology across the content area has allowed me to think about thinking and apply strategies to regulate and oversee there learning in the classroom.  When the lesson of the GAME PLAN was introduced in this classroom I began thinking of a lesson  plan.  Later I found our that a GAME PLAN promotes self directed learning which is "any increase in knowledge, skill, accomplishment, or personal development that an individual selects and brings about by his or her own efforts using any method in any circumstances at any time" (Cennamo, Ross, & Ertmer, 2009, p.1). GAME PLAN also helped me set goals, take action, monitor and evaluating student work.  Learning to use technology effectively has allowed I was able to give a clear understanding for students to have them be actively engaged throughout there learning process.  By using the GAME PLAN I was able to integrate technology more into my lessons allowing students to be self-directed learners.  Game plan also helped me adjust a lesson for students with special needs and learning issues.
This week I learned of a website that will help my classroom break the ice on a new lesson plan.  www.flocabulray.com which is a website similar to khan academy which allow teachers or learners to  find information, auditory learning, video, graphic and story telling.  I have been looking for different ways to keep the students interest and also develop lesson plans that will help the students learn how to be effective during a lesson.  As a mathematical educator incorporating technology has been challenging  but after this class I have learned different techniques and ways to incorporate technology in my lesson.  One example is teaching a student with the use of video, or getting feedback from a blog or an online assessment.   I am a firm believer that the more students use technology the more knowledgeable and confident they become after using it.
